Admiral Byrd Regatta

Watch sailboats race on the Choptank River. Regatta is organized by the Cambridge Yacht Club and features multiple classes of boats, including everything from A Class Catamarans to Flying Scots to Penguins. The regatta is named after Admiral Richard Byrd, who often visited Cambridge while procuring supplies for his Arctic and Antarctic expeditions. He presented the trophy for some of Cambridge Yacht Club’s sailing races in the 1940s.
